Discover the Grenadines with a Grenada Yacht Charter

The Grenadines have been a top holiday destination for a number of years and it’s easy to understand why. These beautiful islands consist of all the things people look for in a beach holiday - reliable sunshine, crystal blue seas, a fun and welcoming local culture, perfect winds for kitesurfing, great food, great cocktails and lots, lots more…

Chartering a yacht is the perfect way to explore the spectacular area of the Grenadines.

One of the keys benefits a yacht charter has over a cruise is the independence. With a yacht charter you are not confined to fixed itinerary that you have no say in, and as yachts are much smaller than cruise-liners you can visit places which would otherwise be off limits.

Another great reason to choose a yacht charter is the chance to have a go at the ropes yourself. Whether you are a keen sailor or have never sailed before but want to give it a go, our skipper will be able to help. Alternatively, if you are simply happy to sit back and relax whilst the skipper takes the ropes that’s perfectly welcome as well!

Why Choose Kalimba Caribbean Tours for Your Holiday?

Kalimba Caribbean Tours are a local, friendly family-run Grenada yacht charter company based in Grenada. Our yacht comes with a skipper, is fully equipped and immaturely maintained. Whatever type of holiday you are looking for, from a private couples' retreat, to a fun, action-packed friends' trip we can arrange the perfect sailing vacation to suit you.

What Is Our Yacht Like?

Our Grenada sailing holidays are available on our sailing yacht, Kalimba. Kalimba is a Beneteau Oceanis 45 Luxury Yacht which has been based in Grenada since May 2013. Previously she sailed across the Atlantic and cruised the Caribbean from Trinidad to The British Virgin Islands. Kalimba is the perfect yacht for chartering in the Caribbean for many of reasons, including the fact it boasts the largest available outdoor seating area for a yacht of its size, perfect for enjoying the sunshine.

We have been sailing around the Caribbean for many years and as a result have learnt where the best locations are to see the stunning sunsets, the best places to try kitesurfing or snorkelling, the best local restaurants, the hidden bays and waterfalls, and not forgetting the best places for a Caribbean cocktail!

We can help you put together your dream Grenada sailing vacation using our local knowledge and our team are on hand to help you from the planning stage right through to sailing.

We create custom itineraries to suit your budget and desire. From small sailing tours to full 2 week holidays we can build the yacht charter holiday exactly the way you want it. If there is a particular place you wish to visit your itinerary can be built around this. Alternatively, you can leave it up to us to put together a great Caribbean tour that takes in the best the islands have to offer from the national parks and tropical rainforests to the local cuisines and water sports.

Where Should You Start?

Grenada is the ‘gateway’ to the beautiful islands of the Grenadines making it the perfect place to start your sailing holiday.

Kalimba Caribbean Tours are based in Grenada’s Port Louis Marina and it is from here that we begin our yacht charter sails. Typically, we advise our charterers to enjoy a few days in Grenada before the sail begins as there is lots to see and do in Grenada itself, including scuba diving, snorkelling, or simply sunbathing on one of the many beaches.

Once you are ready to move on, we will begin our sail. The Grenadines are a true kaleidoscope of colours. From bright blues and yellows to pastel greens and pinks the islands offer a true rainbow for the eyes no matter what time of the day it is - The beautiful sunsets are just as impressive as the colour of the sand and sea during the day. Each island has something unique to offer making the area perfect for this kind of sailing holiday.

An Alternative to Yacht Chartering...

If sleeping aboard a yacht isn't for you then not all hope is lost. Our Powerboat island hopping tour might be just what you're looking for.

Similar to our yacht chartering sailing holiday, we will take you around the islands of the Grenadines however instead of sleeping aboard the yacht, you will stay in local guest houses and B&Bs. By nature our powerboat Kalimba Too (our high speed RIB powerboat) is much smaller than Kalimba making it faster. The passages between islands is quicker, meaning you can spend more time on-shore.

As well as island-hopping we also use our powerboat for kitesurfing Caribbean tours and for day trips. The luxury of being an independent company allows us to offer a full range of holiday types. If you have any questions, please get in touch!
